An initial visit with a provider involves a medical history review, an assessment of your specific symptoms and concerns, and possible diagnostic tests to evaluate a patient's health, identify issues, and develop and discuss treatment options.

Provides psychological support and counseling through various talk therapy (non-medication focused) techniques.

An opportunity for potential patients to discuss their concerns or needs with a provider, or therapist, to determine if their services are a good fit and to receive initial advice or guidance. Many providers offer free or very affordable consultation services with potential patient leads.

A follow-up visit with a provider involves checking the progress of the patient's treatment plan, assessing any new symptoms or concerns, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed to ensure optimal health outcomes.

I provided culturally competent mental health services as part of a team specialized in working primarily with Latino HIV positive population. My main duties were: psychotherapy for adults in Spanish and English as needed, collaboration with other providers, assessments for immigration cases, letters of support for disability cases, and evaluations for gender affirming surgery referrals. Additionally, I provided psychotherapy to children and their families. 

Mental Health Specialist

I assisted a diverse population with mental health and substance abuse issues performing: individual and group counseling, case management, group facilitation, intake interviews, mental health assessment, treatment plan development and implementation, discharge planning, and maintaining clinical records of client’s progress and assessment following the Medi-Cal standards.

Mental Health Counselor

-	I served transitional age youth (ages 14 - 35) with or at risk for Psychosis and Bipolar Disorders. My main duties were: diagnostic evaluations and weekly psychotherapy to individuals using Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy.
-	Running Multi-Family psychoeducational Group and presenting on the topic of early psychosis.  


Bilingual Therapist

-	As Senior therapist I served adult clients with substance use and mental health disorders often co-occurring, performing: diagnosis, treatment planning, and individual counseling. 
-	I led two outpatient substance recovery groups where I taught about substance use, mental health, and facilitated different forms of treatment.
-	I also provided supervision to substance use counselor staff and documentation review.


Senior Therapist

-	Using a cutting-edge online platform, I conducted diagnostic assessments and offered psychotherapy via telehealth to adults with a breadth of psychological complaints
