Meet Jeffrey Spike
Our sessions, the strategies I teach you, and a 5 to 10 min./day commitment to practicing will transform your life guaranteed!
For over 15 years, I dedicated myself to being a clinical and educational psychologist, forging deep connections with countless students and their families. This passion and dedication were recognized when I received the "Outstanding Psychologist of the Year" award from the Los Angeles Association of School Psychologists. With such a rich history in the field, transitioning into private practice was the next logical step. Over the past three years, I've donned multiple hats: a Licensed Educational Psychologist, a Certified Clinical Tele-mental Health Services Provider, and a Certified Clinical ADHD Provider.
My zeal for telehealth is undeniable. This digital medium lets me reach out to countless individuals across California, breaking geographical barriers. It's an absolute boon for those grappling with anxiety or depression, allowing them to find solace without stepping out. What makes my approach stand out? It's the unique strategies and hacks I've cultivated. They're not just effective; they're quick and easy. A mere 5-10 minutes of daily practice with these techniques promises significant improvement. Whether it's enhancing focus, bettering sleep habits, or just generally uplifting one's outlook on life, the benefits are manifold.
But there's a challenge I must address. The title "Educational Psychologist" sometimes leads to misconceptions. Despite this label, I possess clinical certifications that equip me to offer services equivalent to many clinical psychologists. In fact, my extensive training and hands-on experience often surpass many traditional licenses out there. It's disheartening when the expertise gets overshadowed by a mere title.
I prioritize affordable, inclusive mental health support. Sliding scale fees for all and free 15-min consultations for students. Don't let a title define the quality of care you receive. Let's pave a healthier, happier path together.

My philosophy
I recognize that children, teens and young adults struggle and suffer because of their difficulties, but I see how it impacts the whole family. No parent ever wants to see their child suffer. So, it's my priority and my goal to teach you quick, easy, and very effective strategies that, when practiced consistently for just 5 to 10 minutes a day, it gives people the skills and tools needed to solve problems and overcome obstacles and challenges with a lot more ease. I love when clients tell me that I'm the only one who understands, the only one who truly cares, and as a result of our mutual respect and trust, they become more motivated, their mindset changes, self-esteem improves, resiliency improves, they discover strengths they never knew they had, negativity stops at home and school.

Consultation
I offer the potential client a free 15-minute phone call to briefly explain their reason for reaching out, then we schedule the official 1-hour consultation, which takes place at my office or online. It gives the potential client the time to go into detail about their needs, challenges, and together we develop a treatment plan. Assessment or for counseling (in office or online telehealth), or both. It's a good opportunity to meet me and determine whether I'm a good fit.

My education and work experiences
Work

Los Angeles Unified School District
School Psychologist - Full-time
Aug 2005 - May 2019
I was in the trenches! I handled every crisis, emergency, conflict, bullying situation, if there was any significant problem on the campuses I worked, it was me who was always relied on to fix everything. Those were school-related duties but I also had district/psych services-related duties, like conducting evaluations (testing, collecting data from teachers and parents, observations, and much more) then typing thorough reports. I also had several students that relied on me sometimes multiple times per week because of all sorts of issues (domestic violence, trauma, depression, anxiety, bullying, explosive anger, and I had difficulty saying "no" to a kid in need. I loved the job but it became hard working 70 hrs/week to meet every demand. I was working with kids all day and doing reports, IEPs, child abuse reports, crisis reports, etc. all night and all weekend. I also worked during Winter and Spring Breaks to try to keep pace.View all
