Meet Shayna LaBarge

My work involves treating Veterans with mental health disorders through telemedicine. I perform initial mental health screenings to determine the level of care needed, diagnose patients within my current scope of practice, and develop appropriate treatment plans. When necessary and as permitted within my current scope of practice, I also prescribe medication to help manage mental health disorders. Through these efforts, I strive to provide high-quality care to Veterans, even when in-person visits are not possible or practical.View all

In my role, I am responsible for supervising and managing my assigned unit. I evaluate both children and adults, aged 5 and older, who have mental health disorders. This includes administering medication as prescribed by a physician. I also work closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care to my patients. Through these efforts, I aim to ensure that my patients receive the best possible care and support to manage their mental health disorders.View all

In my role as a mental health provider, I make mobile house calls to treat both children and adults aged 12 and older with mental health disorders. During these visits, I perform initial mental health screenings to determine the level of care needed, diagnose patients within my current scope of practice, and develop appropriate treatment plans. If necessary and permitted within my current scope of practice, I also prescribe medication to help manage mental health disorders. Additionally, I contribute to practice evaluation, policy development, and quality improvement to ensure that our services remain effective and up-to-date. Through these efforts, I aim to provide accessible and comprehensive care to patients who may not have easy access to traditional office-based care.View all
