I, as a PMHNP-BC (Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified) play a crucial role in mental health care. Here are some key responsibilities that I do: 
-Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct comprehensive evaluations to assess mental health conditions, utilizing clinical interviews, standardized assessments, and diagnostic criteria.
-Treatment Planning: Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, incorporating evidence-based practices.
-Therapeutic Interventions: Provide psychotherapy, psychoeducation, and counseling to individuals, families, or groups to address various mental health issues.
-Medication Management: Prescribe, manage, and monitor psychiatric medications, ensuring patient safety and efficacy.
-Collaboration: Work with a multidisciplinary team, including psychologists, social workers, and primary care providers, to coordinate care and support patient needs.
Patient Education is also one of my roles.

Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner 

An initial visit with a provider involves a medical history review, an assessment of your specific symptoms and concerns, and possible diagnostic tests to evaluate a patient's health, identify issues, and develop and discuss treatment options.

Initial Visit

A follow-up visit with a provider involves checking the progress of the patient's treatment plan, assessing any new symptoms or concerns, and adjusting the treatment plan as needed to ensure optimal health outcomes.

Follow-up Visit

A prescription service appointment with a provider typically involves a brief review of his/her existing patient's medical history, confirming the need for the prescription service, and issuing a new prescription. It may also involve evaluating any side effects or concerns related to the medication and ensuring that the treatment plan is still appropriate for the patient's needs.

Prescription service

An opportunity for potential patients to discuss their concerns or needs with a provider, or therapist, to determine if their services are a good fit and to receive initial advice or guidance. Many providers offer free or very affordable consultation services with potential patient leads. Providers who add Free consultation as a service receives 2-3 times more prospects.
