Meet Toby Brans
Licensed Professional Counselor | Trauma, Grief, Anxiety, and ADHD
Hello, I'm Toby Brans. As a licensed professional counselor, my goal is to understand your worldview and experiences to tailor our sessions to your unique needs. I believe in creating a supportive environment where clients feel heard and understood, which allows for resilience and proactive change. My passion is helping individuals uncover their potential for a fulfilling life.
I hold a Bachelor's in Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Sam Houston State University. After working in various settings—from prison and community mental health to private practice—I have been driven to focus on working with complex trauma, grief, anxiety, and ADHD. This diverse experience has deepened my understanding of how to approach each client with compassion and tailored strategies that align with their individual needs.
In our sessions, I use a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), incorporating creative experiential exercises to help strategies resonate. With a conversational yet insightful style, I encourage curiosity about your inner world and bravery in facing struggles. Together, we’ll uncover your strengths and use them to illuminate your path to mental well-being.
Looking forward to helping you create meaningful change and enrich your life.
