Meet Binta Alleyne-Green
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 20 years of experience providing individualized, client centered, psychotherapy for adults and adolescents
I am Dr. Binta Alleyne-Green and I specialize in helping individuals (ages 12-65) cope with anxiety, depression, trauma, grief, and loss, as well as supporting couples facing relationship challenges. Clients are welcomed into a compassionate, nonjudgmental space that encourages openness and action, utilizing a blend of traditional and non-traditional therapeutic approaches.
My passion for psychotherapy began early in my career when I worked with children and adolescents who were abused and neglected. Over the past two decades, my work has focused on the impact of violence on individuals' mental and reproductive health as it pertains to anxiety, depression, trauma, grief and loss. I "fell" into couples therapy after working with a couple and realized I have a knack for helping couples and I really loved this work. This propelled me into training with the Gottman Method for couples therapy. As someone who's done the work in therapy to deal with my own trauma history, I believe in the transformative power of therapy. Clients who do the work really see the most life changing benefits.
I tailor therapy to the unique needs of each client by ensuring each client feels heard. My intake sessions might be longer because I believe that truly listening helps build mutual trust. Everything shared during the intake and throughout our sessions contributes to the therapeutic process. In our work together, we will consider your overall identity and use your past experiences to better understand your present and shape a more positive future. You are the expert in your own life, thus, we will collaborate to develop a personalized treatment plan guided by our identified weekly goals. I help clients grow by encouraging them to "do the work", all while fostering mutual trust and a supportive therapeutic relationship.

My philosophy
My approach to therapy is rooted in a client-centered, strength-based, and action-oriented framework. I believe that talking and reflecting on one’s experiences is a powerful tool for self-discovery, helping clients process their thoughts and uncover truths about themselves. I also recognize that lasting change requires more than just insight, it requires action. Together, we work to develop practical, tangible skills that you can apply to your life, creating meaningful and long-lasting transformation.
I draw from a variety of treatment modalities, including the Gottman Method for couples, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and a Strength-Based Perspective, among others. These approaches allow me to tailor therapy to meet the unique needs of each client or couple.
